It feels like a shame when your face becomes spotty due to acne and pimples. A single pimple on the face can also be very disturbing. Acne is a chronic skin disease that causes spots on the face. There are multiple types of acne that are there but the common types are Whiteheads, blackheads, nodules, cysts, and pimples. 

Acne is also known as Acne Vulgaris is the most common type of skin disease. It is a disease of the hair follicles of the face, chest or back. It mostly affects teenagers during puberty. Bacteria is not only the reason of causing acne or pimples. But it plays a role in the development. There are many products available in the market for the treatment of pimples and acne but sometimes you need proper medication for it. If you don’t want to have the medicine for acne then you can also go for some of the home remedies. 

Causes of Acne & Pimples

The main factors of the Acne and Pimples on the face are:

– More Oil Production on Face
– Bacteria also cause pimples on the face.
– Hormonal factors
– When hair follicles clogged by oil and dead skin cells.

Acne can appear on face mostly but these can also appear on the forehead, scalp, shoulders or back. Why pimples occur mostly in these areas of our skin? The reason is that these are the only areas of our skin which has most of the oil glands. The hair follicles are directly connected to the oil glands. 

Home Remedies For Acne & Pimples

Mask of Honey & Cinnamon

Honey and Cinnamon are an excellent source of antioxidants. Various studies have found that applying antioxidants on the skin is more effective than the retinoids or benzoyl peroxide. Honey and Cinnamon are known to have the bacteria-fighting ability and also helpful in reducing inflammation. 

Use: Take 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder and mix it with the 2 tablespoons of honey. Make a thick paste of it. Apply that mask of the paste on the face and leave it for 10-15 minutes. After 10-15 minutes, rinse the mask and dry your face. 

Aloe Vera For Acne

Aloe Vera is a plant whose leaves produce a clear gel. The Aloe Vera gel is used in many creams, soaps, and lotions. Aloe Vera has sulfur and salicylic acid and these both are used for the treatment of pimples and acne. 

Use: Take out the gel from the aloe vera plant with a spoon. Clean the skin and then apply that gel on the face. Repeat the same procedure 2 times a day. Aloe vera gel can also be purchased from the stores. 

Tulsi

Tulsi is a holy herb and is considered as a powerful ayurvedic remedy for various diseases. Apart from all its healing properties, it is one of the best herbs that helps in treating acne and pimples. To use Tulsi as a pimple curing remedy, take some leaves, crush them and take out its juice. After that, massage it on your face. After 15 to 20 minutes when the face absorbs the juice rinse it off. 

Amla

Amla is a medicinal fruit that has various medicinal properties and one of the properties of Amla is that it fights with acne-causing bacteria. Make a thick paste of Amla and then apply the same on the face. After 20 minutes rinse it off. 

Neem Leaves

Just like the leaves of Tulsi, Neem leaves are also rich in medicinal properties. It is a very popular Ayurvedic remedy for pimples and acne. Make a paste of Neem leaves and then apply it on the face. Rinse after 15 to 20 minutes. One can make Neem paste by boiling the leaves of Neem and then crushing the same. 

Triphala or Trifala

Triphala, a churna of three ayurvedic herbs Amla, Harad, and Behada is also a perfect ayurvedic remedy for skin. It helps in balancing the Tridosha. It also fights with bacteria. Take 1 tablespoon of the Triphala with hot water every morning on an empty stomach. 

White Gourd 

White Gourd is very high in water content. Its juice keeps the body and skin healthy. It helps in cleansing the body system and also prevents pimples. The juice of white gourd can be made by cutting the White Gourd into pieces and then blend it in the blender. You can also salt in the juice. 

Papaya

Papaya is also known as a remedy for pimples. It’s paste can help you to get rid of pimples. Wash the face, dry it and then apply the paste on the face. After 20 minutes rinse off the paste with the warm water. Repeat it daily for better results. 

Lemon

Lemon Juice is also one of the home remedies for acne and pimples. It is one of the easiest ways that helps in clearing the skin. Every night before sleeping, apply lemon juice on the face. Do it daily. 

Food To Eat &  Avoid

– Avoiding spicy food, oily and sour food.
– Always Eat fresh food and make sure that you eat fresh vegetables too.
– Use herbs such as coriander seeds, amla, aloe vera, etc. These herbs have a cooling effect. 
– Avoid cosmetics or don’t use too much cosmetics
– Increase the intake of water. Drink as much water as you can (more than 8 glasses of water ).

– Acne mostly occurs on the face. It is a type of skin disease that involves the oil glands below the hair follicles. 
– From the age of 13 to 30, Acne affects 3 in every 4 persons.
– Having acne or pimples is not a dangerous disease but sometimes it leaves scars on the skin that looks ugly.
– Treatment of acne is available and it depends on how severe acne is. 
– Risk factors also include in this disease such as anxiety, stress, oil-based makeup, etc.
