ATHOL — Quabbin Valley Healthcare will host its popular “Gourmet Burger Night” to support Alzheimer’s Initiatives as they kick off their fundraising efforts to support local organizations that help people and families afflicted by the disease.
This year’s event will be held at QVHC on Sept. 19, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. “The event has grown into a favorite. We hope even more people will attend the event this year, making it one of our most successful events yet,” said Michael Kachadoorian, the facility’s assistant administrator. “Last year’s event drew some 40 people and we want to exceed that this year.”
This is a family event said Kachadoorian, and kids are welcome at a discounted rate. On the menu will be good music, great friends, and a feast of homemade gourmet burgers, hotdogs, soft drinks, lemonade, and side dishes. There will be an array of specialty toppings for the burgers and raffle prizes will be awarded. This event leads up to QVHC’s annual forget-me-not walk scheduled for Oct. 19.
Entry to the Gourmet Burger Night will cost $20 in advance and $25 at the door, per adult, and $10 for each child up to age 18.
All proceeds will be donated to local agencies that support people with Alzheimer’s Disease and their caregivers.
Call QVHC at 978-249-3717 to reserve a space. Anyone who calls in advance will be considered an advance purchase and the lower of the adult rates will be honored. Bring cash or check to the event made out to Quabbin Valley Healthcare.
