We know, we talk about it all the time, having a baby is hard. It can be tough physically and mentally. Becoming a mother teaches you just how vulnerable you can be. And can cause you to question whether you’ll ever be yourself again.
Nicola Redhouse is a writer and we can be grateful that she has observed in great detail her struggles with anxiety as a new mother. Although well versed neuroscience and psychology Nicola managed to somehow convince herself that the panic and anxiety she felt about her new baby was somehow normal.
We are forever grateful for the women who join us to talk unflinchingly how becoming a mother made them feel. How they worked to find solutions. And to hand us generously the clues we need to understand what we might be going through.
In this week’s Babytalk Podcast you will meet writer Nicola Redhouse and hear her story about becoming a mother and her battle with anxiety.
