Pat Walker Health Center’s Counseling & Psychological Services has published a new mental health resource to help students, faculty and staff cope with the stress and anxiety as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Adapted from CAPS’ Anxiety Workshop and Toolkit, the self-guided workbook is designed to help reduce anxiety about the outbreak, provide strategies to manage anxiety, as well as offer life-long tools to help cope with anxiety-triggering situations.
“Navigating this unprecedented time can be stressful and challenging for many, which is why CAPS is making every effort to ensure critical mental health services and resources remain available for the university community,” said Josette Cline, director of CAPS. “When things feel uncertain or out of our control, we understandably feel fear and anxiety. The key is learning to manage this fear and anxiety as best we can. We all need self-care strategies now more than ever, so we can take care of ourselves and those around us. “
Daily Anxiety Webinar
In addition to the self-guided workbook, CAPS is hosting daily COVID-19 Anxiety Webinars where students can discuss anxiety related to the COVID-19 outbreak, social distancing, and the University’s move to remote learning and instruction.
The daily anxiety webinar also offers students the opportunity to ask questions and learn various strategies to overcome their anxiety symptoms during these trying times.

Note: CAPS COVID-19 Anxiety Webinar is not a form of clinical therapy, but an informal outreach event. Students can simply drop-in as needed.
Students do not need to enter their real name, or have to use their webcam when prompted to enter the Zoom meeting. Students can also just use the chat function to ask questions.
